Courage and sacrifice

The first time I browsed through the new catalog, I was immediately drawn to page 67 with the patriotic stamp sets. Having recently discovered Cards for Heroes, I knew that I HAD to have these! So after all my new stamps were mounted, they were the first ones to be inked up. :-)

I started with the new Soft Suede cardstock and stamped the large image with Versamark and clear embossed it. Then I gently distressed the cardstock, bending and crinkling it to create a weathered look. For the final touch, I used a sponge and rubbed Soft Suede ink all over so that the wrinkles would pick up the color. It looks and feels just like leather IRL! Trust me, this is one that you have to see in person to truly appreciate!

Hope you like it!!

Stamps: Courage, Service & Sacrifice
Cardstock: Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Soft Suede
Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede
Accessories: clear embossing powder, heat tool, sponges, stampin' dimensionals

Great card! I'm constantly making cards for the Airmen here at our base (or the ones deployed with my husband) and when I saw all these new military stamp sets I was THRILLED to say the least. Love what you did with it!!
