Snowflakes

I just joined a great online group of Stampin' Up! fans called Stampin' Addicts. I took a look around and found their challenge section. Working off a sketch challenge from last week, I created this Christmas card using one of my favorite holiday card color combos. The colors look a little washed out in my photo, but the card is so vibrant IRL! The wide grosgrain ribbon makes it a little bulky for mailing, but would be perfect for a hand-delivered card. Shoebox swap goodies!

My fabulous upline, Sherrie Thomas, hosted a downline event this afternoon featuring a shoebox swap using stamps from the new Idea Book & Catalog or the Holiday Mini Catalog (available September 1st). Celebrate!

Happy 4th of July to my American blogging friends! To celebrate our country's 233rd birthday, I created some fireworks of my own. Using the large star punch, I punched out some Real Red and Night of Navy cardstock, temporarily adhered them to copy paper and punched them again to make these starbursts. Then I used some Versamark ink and iridescent ice embossing powder to make them sparkle. Can't you just see the fireworks lighting up the sky?!

Sunflower

My son and I got back last night from a trip down to Cape Coral, Florida to visit my dad over Spring Break. The weather here in Ohio is quite beautiful today, but I sure do miss the palm trees, the pools and beaches, and the key lime pies that my dad makes. I was feeling a bit of withdrawal while I was gone - no stamping for 5 days!! So I spent this morning cutting all the materials for my stamp club project based on this prototype and then started playing for fun. I love the Daisies #2 die for the Big Shot machine so I made this cute sunflower:

The Whisper White layer was embossed with the texturz plates that I love so much, although it's a little hard to tell from the photo. It was made to mimic the flower center that was made from the polka dot side of Bella Rose DSP.

Mojo Monday challenge 81

I have seen so many terrific cards based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch floating around in cyberspace. I guess the peer pressure got to me, and I decided to give it a try as well. Here's the sketch:

Sorry for the blurry picture, but I was trying to capture the polka dot texture on the Riding Hood Red panel. This sketch was a little hard for me because of all the elements, but I think it turned out pretty cute!

Easter basket

My fabulous upline Sherrie hosted another wonderful stamping night with her downline to make Easter projects. Originally, I wasn't going to be able to attend because of a work conflict, but that resolved and I was able to go. Boy, am I super glad that I did! We made the **cutest** Easter projects ever! My favorite was this Easter basket with bunny and sheep York peppermint patties:


The basket was made using the scallop envelope die for the Big Shot. We textured the cardstock to add some more dimension to the basket. And then we made these adorable little creatures out of punches. How stinkin' cute is this?!?!?
