Stampin' Birthday Party

A few weeks ago, I did a girls birthday party for a friend's daughter. The birthday girl and her friends wanted to make some stamped goodies and I modeled the projects after some I did a couple years ago. This time, the colors of choice were blue, green and purple so we used Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry - what a fun combination! Here's are the projects that Grace and her friends made:


Sorry for the blurry photo - just couldn't get a nice crisp shot - but it's enough to give you the idea. The girls squealed with each project reveal - they made me smile A LOT! They made their own goody bag and then filled it with party favors they made themselves - 3x3 note cards, tic tac holder, mini picture clip and a composition book.

When they were done, they took a group picture of everyone holding her party favor and wanted me in the picture with them! And all the girls gave me big hugs! I tell you - it just warmed my heart to see how appreciative they were! Thanks to Grace and all her wonderful, sweet friends for making my day :-)

Another swap share

I had fun last night with some fellow demonstrators. We did a some stamping, some sharing and some swapping. Our swaps are always a great way to get new samples without breaking the bank, and this month was no exception. Here are a few of the goodies that will be joining my collection...

Valentine Projects

For my stamp club this month, we made some Valentine's Day projects featuring products from the Filled With Love bundle that's available until January 24th. The first project is a treat holder that contains Sweetart conversation hearts.


The second project is a 3x3 notecard. Heat embossing is always a hit! :-)

More Shoebox Share

As I mentioned in my last post, I have some projects to share from a recent shoebox swap. The first is a card created by Edith Hulsmann that used the Big Shot and an embossing folder to create a one-of-a-kind wreath. Fabulous!!


The next one is a gift card holder created by Susi Brunk. The Cherry Cobbler portion slides out, opens and holds a standard gift card.


And the last one was created by my upline Sherrie Thomas and features the fun treat cups to simulate a snow globe.

Celebrate!

I love the color combo on today's card! It's so bright and cheerful :-) And perfect for the recipient (Happy Birthday Diana!). The layout is a variation of one that has become a "go to" layout for me. It can be used for so many occasions and can be easily adjusted with different punches.

Fancy Favor

I'm very excited about today's project! After spending most of the weekend designing cards for a workshop and upcoming stamp-a-stack, I had an itch to make a 3-D project. And once again, Big Shot came to the rescue! Check this out:


I used the Fancy Favor box die for the Big Shot, some designer series paper, striped grosgrain ribbon and some punches to create a multi-layered flower. To add a little more pizzazz to the flower, I swiped a Versamark ink pad on the petals, applied clear embossing powder and set it with a heat tool and then glued a button to the center. Ready for another card featuring products from the new Idea Book & Catalog?? Well, I'm happy to oblige! Today's card features a former In-Color, Baja Breeze, and new In-Color, Poppy Parade. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the Poppy Parade cardstock is heat embossed with clear embossing powder, creating subtle texture with one of the new background stamps. I like layering the curly label punch by turning one 90 degrees to peek out over the top and bottom of another one. The finishing touch was a fun button from the new Brights Collection designer buttons.

Back from Leadership!

Sure was cold last night, getting off the plane in Ohio with only 16 degrees after spending a few days in Phoenix! It was my first time attending this event and it was FABULOUS!! I spotted quite a few "celebrity" Stampin' Up! demos - Patty Bennett, Mary Fish, Corinne Summerville, Richard Garay! Saw tons of fabulous project ideas and brought some of those home as part of the swapping I did (I'll be sharing some of those over the next few days)! And heard some incredible speakers/presenters! Here's a peek at the main stage:


The excitement of nearly 1,000 crazy demonstrators was incredible...crazy dancing in the aisle...screams and hugs...total mayhem when free stamps were doled out! It was so much fun! I hope I can go again next year!

I missed the make-and-take sessions Wednesday night, so I had to assemble my projects at home. I don't have all the tools they used on the projects, so I had to improvise a bit. Here a few of the projects:

Bright buttons

Last month I took advantage of the free button promotion and picked the Playground buttons - they are such fun colors!! I had a special celebration card to make (can't tell you who for until he/she gets in their hands!) and thought these would be perfect! I wanted something bright and fun and these buttons certainly fit the bill!
